Laundry Detergent

mr. awesome's laundry detergent    Homemade goopy liquid laundry detergent does not "suds" up for there is no toxic Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SFS). Simply re-use a one-gallon plastic water jug, a commercial detergent container or scoop it out of the bucket you make it in.

   Washing Soda
   Castille Soap
   Essential Oils

   Homemade laundry detergent contains no:
1, 4 dioxane, phenols, phosphates, Sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates (SLS) or synthetic chemical fragrances.

   RECIPE (for 1 gallon)
In a 3-5 gallon bucket add,
6 TABLESPOONS each of Washing Soda & Borax
1/3 bar of shredded Castille Soap (1.3 oz.) - use a cheese or carrot scraper
40 drops of Essential Oils - optional
1 gallon water + 1 cup more    Shred soap and add to bucket with washing soda and borax    Add 1 gallon warm or hot water    Stir until soap dissolves    Cover and let sit overnight    Stir in the morning a few times. The first time you stir you'll think it's still just watery but give it 15 minutes and the liquid turns to goopy madness!    Add to used laundry detergent container or scoop directly from bucket.

   Essential Oil combino ideas:  Peppermint-Eucalyptus, Rosewood-Tangerine, Lemon-Eucalyptus

Use 1 cup per wash load. High-Efficiency washers can use 1/4 the amount!!

   Fabric Softener

Commercial fabric softeners coat laundry with a film of benzene or chemicals that cripple the mucous membranes to limit one's sense of smell!  For two great, cheap toxin-free alternatives to fabric softener use:
   (1) 1/4 cup of vinegar (distilled or apple cider) in your rinse cycle [the vinegar smell dissipates when clothes dry!] or
   (2) a 1/4 cup of epsom salt along with laundry detergent at the beginning of the wash.
